Not from dbus alone, because dbus is just a library to ease
IPC between processes in user session (or systemwide).
However, assuming you have haldaemon running, some things,
like opening dired buffer in just inserted cdrom, can be made.
Similar thing with powersaved, which gives control over
acpi, batt status, cpufreq, suspend etc and uses dbus too.
Both linux-specific, afaik.
