Could be cool to have status indicators for a couple of your "Eicq
buddies".

The `*' would change colour matching the status of the user (using the
same colours that Eicq uses for this). `A', `B', `C' is from an alist
of single chars to Eicq nicknames.  They change colour if you receive
a message from them.
